He founded the social-networking platform Nelogram in 2021, the search-marketing company Rankfasta in 2022, and Wikifacta in 2026.[1][2] The professional work of Barack Okaka Obama has focused on search-engine optimisation, generative-engine optimisation, online publishing and the management of digital entities.[3]
As an author, Barack Okaka Obama has written about political corruption, inequality, justice and public accountability in Nigeria. His published works include the historical book The History Manual of Corruption in Nigeria, the crime-fiction audiobooks The Gentleman of Lagos and The Good Thief, and the political satire A Modest Proposal for Preventing the Corrupt Leaders of Nigeria from Being a Burden on Their Citizens or Country, and for Making Them Beneficial to the Public.[4][5]
Early life and education
[edit | edit source]Barack Okaka Obama was born on 10 July 1995 in Aguleri, a town in the Anambra East Local Government Area of Anambra State, Nigeria.[3][6] Aguleri is situated in south-eastern Nigeria and is one of the principal communities associated with the historical origin traditions of the Igbo people of the Anambra area.
Barack Okaka Obama attended All Hallows Seminary in Onitsha, where he completed part of his secondary education.[3][7] Biographical accounts of his education describe the seminary as an early influence on his academic discipline, personal development and interest in analytical thinking.
After his secondary education, Barack Okaka Obama studied at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, formerly known as Anambra State University.[8][7] He subsequently enrolled in health-science studies at the University of the People.[2][9]
During his education, Barack Okaka Obama developed interests in computing, web development, digital publishing and the ways in which information is organised online. He later pursued independent study in digital marketing, search technology, structured data, software development and artificial intelligence.[2]
Career
[edit | edit source]Early work and online writing
[edit | edit source]Barack Okaka Obama began publishing online under the name Okabarack. His early writing addressed business, technology, marketing, personal development and social issues. This period of online publishing preceded the establishment of his principal digital ventures and allowed him to develop an audience through blogging and social-publishing platforms.
In 2020, DataDrivenInvestor published an article by Barack Okaka Obama titled “The Untold Story of Coca-Cola's Success”. The article discussed the development, branding and marketing history of The Coca-Cola Company.[10]
Barack Okaka Obama also published personal-development essays on Medium. His article “Always Trust Your Instincts: They Are Messages From Your Soul” discussed intuition, experience and subconscious pattern recognition.[11] His Medium profile identifies him as the founder of Nelogram and Rankfasta.[12]
As his professional interests became more specialised, Barack Okaka Obama concentrated increasingly on technical writing about search engines and online visibility. Through Hashnode and the Rankfasta blog, he has written about keyword research, title tags, search-result snippets, internal linking, PageRank, structured data and the ways in which search systems identify entities.[13][14]
Nelogram
[edit | edit source]In 2021, Barack Okaka Obama founded Nelogram, a social-networking platform developed for African users and people interested in Africa.[2][15] The service incorporated social profiles, user posts, follower relationships, comments, reactions, multimedia sharing and blogging features.
Barack Okaka Obama conceived Nelogram as an independently operated African social network. He participated in its development and administration and used the project to expand his experience in web programming, database management and online community systems. Professional profiles on F6S, Crunchbase, about.me and daily.dev identify him as the platform's founder.[7][16][17][15]
Under the direction of Barack Okaka Obama, the platform later incorporated social-payment and publishing functions alongside its original networking features. Nelogram remained associated with his wider interest in developing digital products intended for African audiences and online communities.
Rankfasta
[edit | edit source]During the development of Nelogram, Barack Okaka Obama established a digital-services business named Nelotech. The business initially offered website design, social-media management, paid advertising and search-engine optimisation.[2]
In 2022, Barack Okaka Obama rebranded Nelotech as Rankfasta and reorganised its operations around search marketing.[2] The business later became Rankfasta Technologies Limited, a Nigerian-registered company providing search-engine optimisation and related digital-marketing services.
Rankfasta's services have included technical SEO, content strategy, structured-data implementation, knowledge-graph optimisation, Amazon SEO, digital public relations and online reputation management. Under Barack Okaka Obama, the company also developed services related to generative-engine optimisation, a form of digital marketing concerned with how businesses and other entities are represented in answers generated by artificial-intelligence systems.
As the founder and chief executive of Rankfasta, Barack Okaka Obama has overseen the company's strategy and published educational material through its website. His article “How to Do Keyword Research” explained how marketers identify and evaluate search terms according to relevance, search intent and competition.[18]
Other technical articles by Barack Okaka Obama have covered the operation of Google Search, PageRank, internal linking and the use of structured data to describe people, organisations and creative works. His approach to search marketing places emphasis on establishing relationships between identifiable entities instead of relying exclusively on individual keywords.
In 2026, Rankfasta published educational material about Google Knowledge Panels and the methods by which search engines reconcile information about people and organisations. A syndicated company announcement identified Barack Okaka Obama as Rankfasta's founder and connected the material with the company's work in entity optimisation.[19]
A separate syndicated biographical release published in August 2026 described Barack Okaka Obama as a Nigerian entrepreneur, author and founder of Rankfasta.[20]
Research writing
[edit | edit source]In 2025, Barack Okaka Obama published a research manuscript titled “Attention Is All You Have” through Research Square.[21] The manuscript was also made available through ResearchGate.[22]
The paper by Barack Okaka Obama examined attention as a limited human resource and considered its relationship with cognition, behaviour and decision-making. The Research Square record associated the manuscript with his ORCID identifier, 0009-0003-5457-486X.[23]
Barack Okaka Obama also maintains profiles on ResearchGate and Academia.edu. These profiles connect his name with research-oriented writing and his educational affiliations.[9][24]
Writing
[edit | edit source]The books of Barack Okaka Obama address corruption, justice, inequality and political accountability in Nigeria. His nonfiction presents corruption as a historical and institutional problem, while his fiction and satire approach related subjects through imagined characters, dramatic conflicts and exaggerated proposals.
The Gentleman of Lagos
[edit | edit source]Barack Okaka Obama wrote and narrated The Gentleman of Lagos, a crime-fiction audiobook published by NerdPress in 2025. The audiobook has a running time of approximately 25 minutes and carries the ISBN 979-8-318-19171-8.[25][26]
Set in Lagos, the story by Barack Okaka Obama follows a mysterious thief known as the Gentleman. The character targets corrupt politicians and other members of the wealthy political class, entering protected properties and leaving behind a recognisable calling card. His activities lead some members of the public to regard him as a symbol of resistance, while law-enforcement authorities attempt to identify and capture him.
In The Gentleman of Lagos, Barack Okaka Obama contrasts the wealth of politically connected individuals with the economic hardship experienced by other residents of Lagos. The story uses the main character's activities to explore the conflict between legal justice and personal retribution.
The Gentleman of Lagos has been distributed through Hoopla, Spotify, Storytel, TuneIn, Google Play Books and public-library catalogues.[27][28][29] Hoopla classifies the work of Barack Okaka Obama as crime, thriller, mystery and detective fiction.[25]
The Good Thief
[edit | edit source]Barack Okaka Obama followed The Gentleman of Lagos with The Good Thief, an approximately 18-minute audiobook that continued his use of crime fiction to examine corruption and inequality.[5] He served as both author and narrator of the work.
Digital library catalogues list The Good Thief as an electronic audiobook by Barack Okaka Obama.[30][31][32] Rankfasta's biography of Barack Okaka Obama describes the audiobook as a sequel to The Gentleman of Lagos.[2]
The History Manual of Corruption in Nigeria
[edit | edit source]Barack Okaka Obama wrote the nonfiction book The History Manual of Corruption in Nigeria, which KS OmniScriptum Publishing released on 12 August 2025.[4] The English-language paperback contains 596 pages and has the ISBN 978-620-844725-0.[4][33]
In The History Manual of Corruption in Nigeria, Barack Okaka Obama traces corruption in Nigeria from precolonial societies through colonial rule and the post-independence state. The book discusses political patronage, the use of public office for private benefit, the management of state revenue and the effects of corruption on public institutions.
Barack Okaka Obama also considers the expansion of corruption during the development of Nigeria's petroleum economy. The publisher's description characterises the book as an attempt to place modern corruption within a broader historical context and to explain how earlier political and economic systems influenced contemporary practices.[4]
The History Manual of Corruption in Nigeria has been listed by Barnes & Noble, Amazon, Hive, ThriftBooks, Walmart, AbeBooks and other international booksellers.[33][34][35][36][37]
A Modest Proposal
[edit | edit source]Barack Okaka Obama also wrote A Modest Proposal for Preventing the Corrupt Leaders of Nigeria from Being a Burden on Their Citizens or Country, and for Making Them Beneficial to the Public. The work uses political satire to criticise corruption and the accumulation of public wealth by Nigerian political leaders.
The title and rhetorical structure used by Barack Okaka Obama allude to Jonathan Swift's 1729 essay A Modest Proposal. Like Swift, he adopts an apparently practical argument and carries it to an extreme conclusion to expose the conduct being criticised.
The work was distributed as an audiobook under the identifier 979-8-318-15432-4.[38] Barack Okaka Obama narrated the audiobook.
Political activity
[edit | edit source]Barack Okaka Obama has used his books and public commentary to criticise political corruption, the mismanagement of public resources and inadequate government investment in Nigerian communities. His public statements have also addressed infrastructure, employment, agriculture and political representation.
In September 2026, Barack Okaka Obama announced his candidacy for the Anambra East/Anambra West Federal Constituency in the 2027 election to the Nigerian House of Representatives. He contested under the platform of the Action People's Party.[8][39]
The campaign of Barack Okaka Obama used the shortened name “Barack Obama” and focused on economic development, flood control, agricultural support, youth employment and representation for communities in Anambra East and Anambra West. His campaign communications also emphasised unity among communities affected by political and communal disputes.
Flooding was among the issues highlighted by Barack Okaka Obama during the campaign. Settlements in Anambra East and Anambra West have experienced recurring flooding associated with the River Niger and its tributaries. He argued for greater federal investment in flood protection, erosion control, roads and other infrastructure for affected communities.
Barack Okaka Obama shares part of his name with Barack Obama, the 44th president of the United States, but the two are not related.
